Hi,

During respiration, glucose molecules are converted to other molecules in a series of steps. They finally end up as carbon dioxide and water. The reaction is exothermic and

Burning of candle is also exothermic.

So may be immersing iron pieces in water is not an example of exothermic reaction

Hope this may be helpful for you!!

Emerging iron pieces in water is not exothermic.

• The respiration process is surely an exothermic process because it's produce significant amount of heat energy as the output of the process.

• Burning of candle includes combustion process. And, combustion is surely an exothermic process.

• But,when we immerse the iron piece in the water the excessive heat energy (if any) of the iron piece will be absorbed by the water. So here no heat energy will be liberated in the external environment, and that's why it is not an exothermic process.
