Answer: The lacuna is related to the learning strategies employed for learning concepts from examination point of view.

Explanation: It is emphasised a lot by teachers and parents that students should adopt rote learning in order to score well so as to be promoted to next class but this is not the right approach. This way the student only focuses on rote learning the concepts without gaining any conceptual understanding and going ahead just to score marks to be promoted to further class. This way the learning outcome is less and no academic knowledge is imparted to them making it null and void. Rather students should be encouraged to understand the concepts through visual aids, classroom activities, presentations, quizzes so as to make learning fun and effortless. Hence the lacuna lies in promoting role learning culture and not making efforts to employ different methods of teaching moving ahead from the conventional means.
