The rear wheels of a car have diameter of 600 mm. The rear axle makes 250 rpm. Find out the peripheral speed of rear wheels in m/sec.​

Radius of tyre = 300 mm = 0.3 m

Periphery of tyre :

2 \times \pi \times  0.3

= 1.884 m

Rotation per minute = 250. Hence rotation per sec = 250/60 = 4.166

Hence in one second 4.166 tyre is revolved 4.166 times, hence the distance covered by tyre is 4.166 * 1.884 = 7.85 m.

Now, speed = distance / time

Taking time = 1 sec.

Distance covered is 7.85 m.

Hence, Speed = 7.85/1 = 7.85 m/s.
