Explanation:

When the parallel beam of light falls on the smooth surface of a plane mirror, it is reflected back as a parallel beam in one direction only thus,the angle of incidence and angle of reflection are same.

virtual image is formed when light rays appear to meet but do not really meet and in plane mirror the light rays only appear to meet, hence it produces a virtual image.

since the light rays are travelling parallel form the object and are not undergoing refraction we obtain an image which is upright and of the same size as the object.
