There was disputes for distribution of water from the rivers of Krishna and Godavari. The states involved are Maharashtra, Karnataka and Andhrapradesh. To resolve the water disputes the Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal and the Godavari Water Dispute Tribunals were set up by the Government of India in the year 1969.
