The reason for the failure of the the cripps mission

*In 1942 , Sir Stafford cripps was sent to India to negotiate with Indian leaders.

* He offered the Dominion status for India and allowed them to frame a new constitution .

*But he did not mention anything about giving independence to India.

* so Gandhi ji rejected the cripps mission.

*He called it as " A POST - DATED CHEQUE ON A CRUSHING BANK"

*thus the cripps mission ended in failure.

The reasons behind the failure of the Cripp's Mission are as follows :

⇒ The Cripps Mission did not tell anything about the independence of India.

⇒ The Mission opposed the creation of a single union.

⇒ It would have led to the partition of the country.

⇒ It was rejected by the Hindus because they did not want their country to be partitioned.

⇒ It was rejected by the people of Princely states as they had no right to vote.

⇒ It did not grant any guarantee of self government.
