Step-by-step explanation:

Let the width of a rectangle be b

length =3b-2

area of a rectangle given=16cm²

formula = Length x breath

16= 3b-2 × b

16+2=3b×b

18=3b²

b²=18÷3

b²=6

L=3W-2

W=16

(3W-2)W=16

3W²-2W=6

3W²-2W-6=0

by using

 \frac{ - b +or -  \sqrt{ {b}^{2} - ac } }{2a} find \: value \: ofw

a=3

b=-2

c=-6

after solving W= (1±19)/3

and L=3×(1±19)/3-2

1±19-2

-1±19
