Perimeter of the playground

= 2(l + b)

= 2(500 + 700)

= 2(1200)

= 2400 m

Distance ran by Alex

= Perimeter × 4

= 2400 × 4

= 9600 m

= 9.6 km

Therefore,the distance ran by Alex is 9600 metres or 9.6 kilometres.
