The length of the diagonal of rectangular is 13 m.

Explanation:

As we know that the sides of a rectangle are at 90^{o} with each other. So, sides of the rectangle are given.

GIven:

                      Length of the rectangle 'l' = 12 m

                       Width of the rectangle 'w' = 5 m

These two sides are perpensicular with each other. So, with the diagonal, a right angle triangle is formed. Where, the diagonal is the hypotenuse.

Using pythagoras theorm,

                                     ⇒ h^{2} = l^{2} + w^{2}

                                     ⇒ h^{2} = 12^{2} + 5^{2}

                                     ⇒ h = \sqrt{144 + 25}

                                     ⇒ h =  \sqrt{169}

                                     ⇒ h = 13 m
