RECTANGULAR TANK:-

Length = l = 3m

Breadth = b = 2m

Height = h = 5m

Volume of the tank = lbh

                                = 3 × 2 × 5

                               = 30m³

The volume of the recatangular tank is 30m³

CAPACITY:

1m³ = 1000L

∴ 30m³ = 1000 × 30

             = 30000L

Concept

To calculate the amount of water in tank we will calculate the volume of the rectangular tank. Since the volume of the rectangular tank is given as

V = lbh

where V is the volume of the rectangular tank, l is the length of the rectangle, b is the breadth of the rectangle and h is the height of the rectangle. Also the relation between the liter and cubic meter is given as

1 cubic meter =  1000 liters.

Given

l = 3 m

b = 2 m

h = 5 m

Find

We have to calculate the value of the amount of the water in tank.

Solution

Since, V = lbh

Therefore, V = 3 m * 2 m * 5 m

V = 30 cubic meter

V = 30 * 1000 liters

V = 30, 000 liters

Hence the amount of water the given tank can hold is 30, 000 liters.
