Given :  red parabola shown is the graph of the equation x = ay^2 + by + c

To find : a + b + c

Solution:

x = ay² + by + c.

at x = - 3  , y =  1

=> - 3 = a(1)² + b(1) + c

=>  -3 = a  + b + c

=> a + b + c = - 3

Additional Info :

find a , b & c values too

then

x = - 2 ,  y = 0    &   2

=>    -2 =  c

& - 2 = 4a + 2b + c

=> -2  = 4a + 2b  - 2

=> 4a + 2b = 0

=> 2a + b = 0

a + b + c = - 3

=> a + b - 2 = - 3

=> a  + b =  - 1

=> a = 1   , b = - 2

a = 1  , b  = - 2  , c  =  - 2

x = y²  - 2y  -  2

=> x = ( y - 1)²  - 3

a + b + c = - 3
