Take 2x + 3 = et , t = log(2x + 3) so that the given equation reduced to

[4D(D – 1) – 2D – 12]y = 3(e^t – 3) as 6x = 3(2x) = 3(e^t – 3)

or 2(2D2 – 3D – 6)y = 3(e^t – 3)
