Given :  Reflection of the point P(-2, 8) in the point M(4, -2)

To Find : The reflection of the point P(-2, 8) in the point M(4, -2)

Solution:

Let say P' ( x , y ) is the   Reflection of the point P(-2, 8) in the point M(4, -2)

Hence M will be the mid point of   P(-2, 8) and  P' ( x , y )

=> (4 , -2 ) = ( ( x - 2)/2  , ( y + 8)/2 )

Equating corresponding coordinate

=> (x - 2) /2  = 4  => x  = 10

(y + 8)/2  = - 2  => y = - 12

Hence ( 10 , -12 ) is the reflection of the point P(-2, 8) in the point M(4, -2)
