Given:-

  • Refractive index of Glass ,ng = 1.5

  • Speed of light in air ,c = 3 × 10⁸ m/s.

To Find:-

  • Speed of light in glass ,v

Solution:-

Using Snell's Law .

ng = c/v

where,

ng is the refractive index of glass

c is the speed of light in air

v is the speed of light in glass

Substitute the value we get

→ 1.5 = 3×10⁸/v

→ 1.5 × v = 3×10⁸

→ v = 3 × 10⁸/1.5

→ v = 2×10⁸ m/s

Therefore, the speed of light in glass is 2 × 10m/s.

Given:-

\bigstarRefractive index of glass = 1.5\\\:

\bigstarSpeed of light in air = 3.0 x 10⁸ m / s\\\:

To Find:-

\bigstarThe speed of light in the glass.\\\:

Solution:-

\bigstarWe know that,\\\:

\bigstarη = speed of light in vacuum /speed of in light medium \\\:

\bigstarη = 3 × 10⁸ / v = 1.5\\\:

\bigstarv = 2 × 10⁸ m / s\\\:

\bigstarThe speed of light in the glass is 2 × 10⁸ m / s\\\:
