We know that,

refractive index, n = \rm\frac{velocity \:of \:light\: in\: vacuum}{velocity\: of \:light \:in\: given \:medium}

Here,

=> n = \rm\frac{velocity \:of\: light \:in \:vacuum}{velocity \:of\: light \:in \:diamond}

=> 2.4 = \rm\frac{3 × 10^8}{velocity \:of \:light\: in\: diamond}

=> velocity of light in diamond = \rm\frac{3 × 10^8}{1.25}

=> velocity of light in diamond = \rm \fbox{ 1.25 × 10^8 \: m/s }
