Heya,

Given ndg = 1.6 and ng = 1.5

Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass;

=> Absolute refractive index of diamond/Absolute refractive index of glass

So,

Absolute refractive index of diamond = Refractive in of diamond with respect to glass * Absolute refractive index of glass

So,

nd = 1.5*1.6 = 2.4

Hence the option (2) is correct i.e. 2.4 is refractive index of diamond.
