• Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass.
• Refractive index of glass with respect to diamond.

Solution:-

Given,

Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass = 1.6

Absolute refractive index of glass = 1.5

$\sf \: refractive \: index \: of \: diamond \: with \: respect \: to \: glass = \frac{absolute \: index \: of \: diamond}{absolute \: index \: of \: glass}$

Therefore,

• absolute refractive index of diamond = Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass × Absolute refractive index of glass

=1.6×1.5=2.4
