Hello there

the refractive index of glass with respect to water is 9/ 8

The refractive index of water with respect to glass will be

= velocity of light in glass / velocity of light in water

= 2 × 10^8 / 2.2 × 10^8

=2 / 2.2

= 0.9

The absolute refractive index of glass is

= velocity in vacuum / velocity in glass

= 3 × 10^ 8/ 2 × 10 ^8

= 3/2

similarly, the absolute refractive index of water is

= 3 × 10^8 / 2.2 × 10^8

= 30 / 22

= 15 / 11
