The refractive index of the material of a double convex lens is 1.5 and its focal length is 5 cm, if the radii of curvature are equal find the value of radius of curvature using lens maker's formula

(Pls show all your calculations , and show them handwritten on a paper not by typing, do not miss any step pls )

Answer:

5 cm

Explanation:

The radius of curvature is =5cm

The refractive index is

n=1.5

The focal length is

f=5cm

The radius of curvatures are

r=r1=−r2

Apply the thin lens approximation

1f=(n−1)(1r1−1r2)=(n−1)(2r)

Therefore,

15=(1.5−1)⋅2r

r=10*0.5

r=5cm
