The refractive index of the material of a prism is
V2 and the angle of the prism is 30º. One of
the two refracting surface of the prism is made
a mirror inwards, by silver coating. A beam of
monochromatic light entering the prism from the
other face will retrace its path (after reflecting
from the silvered surface) if its angle of incidence
on the prism is

(1) 60°
(3) 300
(4) zero
(2) 450

Answer:

Hii

Option (2) 45° is correct!!!

Explanation:

Using A = r1 + r2.

30 = r1 + 0

r1 = 30.

Using Snell's Law,

1 * sin i = u * sin r

1 * sin i =  \sqrt {2} * sin 30

sin i = 3 \sqrt {2} / 2

sin i = 1 /  \sqrt {2}

i = 45°.

HOPE IT HELPS!!!!
