The refractive index of water is 1.33 and kerosene is 1.44. Calculate refractive index of the kerosene with respect to water.

  • Refractive index of kerosene = nk =1.44

 =  > n_{kw} =  \frac{ n_{k}}{ n_{w}} =  \frac{1.44}{1.33}  \\ =  > 1.082
