The refractive indices of glass and water with respect to air are 3/2 and 4/3 respectively. If speed of light in glass is 2 × 10×10×10×10×10×10×10×10 m/s, find the speed of light in water.

We are given:

Refractive index of water = 4/3

Refractive index of glass = 3/2

Speed of light in glass = 2*10^8 m/s

R.I. of light in water = \frac{speed of light in air}{speed of light in water}

 \frac{4}{3}  =  \frac{2 \times {10}^{8} }{v} \:  \\ v = \frac{2 \times {10}^{8} \times 3 }{4}  \\ v = 1.5 \times  {10}^{8}  \: m {s}^{ - 1}
