Given:

The refractive indices of water and glass are 1.35 and 1.50 respectively.

To find:

Refractive index of water with respect to glass?

Calculation:

So, we can say:

_{a}\mu_{g} = 1.5 \: and \: _{a}\mu_{w} = 1.35

Now, when we want to find refractive index of water w.r.t glass, we will write as :

 \therefore \: _{g}\mu_{w} =  \dfrac{_{a}\mu_{w}}{_{a}\mu_{g}}

 \implies \: _{g}\mu_{w} =  \dfrac{1.35}{1.5}

 \implies \: _{g}\mu_{w} = 0.9

Refractive index of water w.r.t glass is 0.9 .
