Refractive index (μ) = \frac{c (velocity if light in vacuum)}{v (velocity of light in that medium)}

In glass,

v = c/μ_glass

v = (\frac{3*10^8}{3/2}) = 2 x 10^{8} m/s

In water,

v = c/μ_water

v = (\frac{3*10^8}{4/3}) = 2.25 x 10^{8} m/s
