Areas which receive less than 50 cm of rainfall are called as Areas of Scanty Rainfall. Areas of low rainfall include - Upper Ganga valley, eastern Rajasthan, Punjab, Southern Plateau of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.
