Given info : the relation between density and molar mass of gaseous substance is f = PM/RT, where f is density of substance P is pressure of gaseous substance M is molar mass, R is gas constant ( = 8.3J/mol/k) and T is temperature in K.
To find : the density of H2 gas at 27°C and 249 KPa pressure is..
solution : molecular weight of H2 gas , M = 2 g/mol = 2 × 10¯³ kg/mol
temperature, T = 27°C = 300K
pressure, P = 249Kpa = 2.49 × 10⁵ Pa
now, density of hydrogen gas, f = PM/RT
= (2.49 × 10⁵ × 2 × 10¯³)/(8.3 × 300)
= 0.02 × 10²
= 2 kg/m³
Therefore the density of hydrogen gas is 2 kg/m³
