  • The link between the geometric length of a magnet and magnetic length of a magnet is that the magnetic length is 5/6th of the geometric length.

  • The magnetic length implies the distance between the poles present in the magnet.
  • In a bar magnet the poles are measured to be situated at a point slightly away from the 2 side of a bar magnet.
  • So, the magnetic length is somewhat less than that of the geometric length.
  • Geometric length is the real length of a bar magnet.
  • So, Magnetic length = 5/6 * Geometric length
