The relation between position and time for a moving object is x = -2/3 t2 + 16 t + 2 where x is in meter and t is in seconds. Find :
1) The initial velocity of the object.

2) How long does the body take to come to rest.

3) What is the acceleration of the body when it comes to rest.

Answer:

initial velocity= 16m/s

t=12sec

a= -4/3

Explanation:

X= -2/3t^2 +16t + 2

dx/dt= -4/3t +16 =v

at t=0

v=16 (initial velocity)

now, at rest v=0

0= -4/3t + 16

4/3t=16

t=12 sec

again, v= u+at

0=16+a(12)

a= -4/3 m/s^2

I hope this will help you☺️
