Hi mate.

Thanks for asking this question.

Here is your answer,

Here,

 {e}^{o}  =  \: permitivity \\  {u}^{o}  =  \: permeability \\ c = speed \: of \: light

We have a relationship,

c =  {( {e}^{o}  {u}^{o} )}^{ -  \frac{1}{2} }

Where,

 {e}^{o}  = 8.854 \times  {10}^{ - 12}
 {u}^{o} = 4\pi \times  {10}^{ - 7}

Then we get a exact value of the speed of light is,

c = 2.998 \times  {10}^{8} m {s}^{ - 1}

Thank you.

Given :

Permeability is , \mu .

Permittivity is , \epsilon .

To Find :

The relation between the speed of light, permeability and permittivity .

Solution :

First we should know the difference between permeability and permittivity .

The permittivity measures the resistance produces by the material in the formation of the electric field, whereas the permeability is the ability of the material to allow magnetic lines to conduct through it .

Now , the relation between speed of light, permeability and permittivity is :

c=\dfrac{1}{\sqrt{ \mu \epsilon}}

Hence , this is the required relation .
