Answer:

There is weak base , so it's a strong acid. Therefore , it's pH will decrease and pOH will increase.

For ex.

I have 0.05M CH3COOH is strong acid and weak base. So

by taking value of Ka from table = 1.74 × 10-5

and solving it,

I get alfa= 1.86 × 10-2

Further from that I get value of H+ = 9.3 × 10-4

From that pH is easily find

pH = - log [H+]

= -log [9.3× 10-4]

= - [ -4 + 0.9685]

pH = 3.03
