The relationship with China was strengthened with Panchasheela principle.

The Panchasheela principles were mentioned in the treaty between India and China for the peaceful co-existence of these two countries.

There were five principles in the Panchsheel Treaty which are mutual respect for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of each other, non-aggression on both side, non-interference in the internal affair of each other, equality, co-operation and peaceful co-existence.
