Velocity gradient = dv/dx

dv = 8 cm/s

dx = 0.1 cm

dv/dx = 8/0.1 = 80cm/s cm

Velocity Gradient explains how the velocity changes in a fluid.

Equation to find the velocity gradient can be written as below,

Velocity Gradient = V/X

V - Velocity

X - Distance between layers

Velocity Gradient = 8/0.1

                               = 80 s^{-1}
