The equation for relativistic mass is,
mr = m0 / sqrt (1 – v^2 /c^2 )
Where:
mr: relativistic mass
m0: rest mass (invariant mass)
v: velocity
c: speed of light
We know,
m0=1.672×10^-27 kg
V=2.4×10 m/s
C=3×10^8 m/s
Now putting the values in the equation we will get,
mr=1.672×10^-27/√1-(2.4×10/3×10^8)^2
=(1.672×10^-27)/1
=1
The relativistic mass of proton of velocity 2.4×10 m/s is 1 kg.
