Even though many of the Indian rulers supported the uprising of 1857 many Indian rulers supported the British because of the subsidiary alliance. Some rulers voluntarily supported the British.

Some of the Indian rulers who supported the British during the 1857 revolt are

Maharaja Naredra Singh of Patiala.

Maharaja Ram Singh II of Jaipur.

Maharaja Jiyaji Rao Shinde of Gwalior.

Nawab Mir Farqunda Ali Khan of Hyderabad.

Rulers who accepted the subsidiary alliance.
