After reaching the ovule the pollen grain fuses with the ovule to form zygote. This is called fertilization. After fertilization, the ovule divides rapidly and forms a tough covering over the embryo and forms a seed. The ovary also divides rapidly to form a fruit. The fruit contains the seeds which, under favourable contions forms a plant. This is called germination.
