Given :

Three resistors are connected in series combination,

  • R₁ = 2 ohms
  • R₂ = 4 ohms
  • R₃ = 8 ohms

To find :

The equivalent resistance

Solution :

We know that,

» The combined resistance of any number of resistance connected in series is equal to the sum of the individual resistances. i.e.,

R = R₁ + R₂

By substituting the values in the formula,

➛ R = R₁ + R₂ + R₃

➛ R = 2 + 4 + 8

➛ R = 14 ohms

Thus, the equivalent resistance of the combination is 14 ohms.

Remember :

SI unit of resistance is Ohms (Ω).

Explanation:

Given:-

Three Resistances are connected in Series Connection

  • R1=2ohm
  • R2=4ohm
  • R3=8ohm

To find:-

Their Equivalent Resistance=R

Solution:-

We know that in Series Connection

\boxed{\sf R=R_1+R_2+R_3+\dots}

\\ \tt{:}\Rrightarrow R=2+4+8

\\ \tt{:}\Rrightarrow R=6+8

\\ \tt{:}\Rrightarrow R=14\Omega
