Answer:

Given:

2 bulbs of power ratings 100W and 40W has been provided.

To explain:

Resistance of 100 W bulb is lesser than that of 40W bulb.

Concept:

First of all let's consider that the bulbs have been connected in separate circuits , having the same terminal Voltage supplied by the battery.

In that case , we can say that , power ratings and Resistance of bulbs can be related as follows ;

 \boxed{ \boxed{power =  \dfrac{ {(voltage)}^{2} }{resistance} }}

Keeping Voltage constant , we can say ;

 \boxed{ \boxed{power \:  \propto \:  \dfrac{1}{resistance} }}

So higher the resistance , lesser will be the power and vice - versa.

So 100 W bulb have lower resistance as compared to 40 W bulb.

</p><p>{\tt{\purple{\underline {The \: Resistance \: Of \: A \: 100 \: W \: Bulb \: Is \:less\: than\: resistance\: of\: 40 W\: bulb. }}}}

power \:  =  \:  \frac{ {voltage}^{2} }{r}

Power Is Inversely Proportional To Resistance.

Therefore higher the resistance, lower the power.

A 100 Watt Bulb has a higher power than a 40 Watt Bulb.

Hence it's resistance is lesser than the 40 Watt Bulb.
