The resistance of a platinum wire is 5ohm at ice point and 5.5ohm at steam point find the temp at which resistance of wire is?

When the thermometer is inserted in hot bath the resistance of platinum is equal to 5.795 ohm

Now, if we suppose

R0= 5 ohm

R100 = 5.23 ohm

Rt=5.795 ohm

As A is equal to R100 -R0/R0*100 =Rt-R0 / R0 * T

Therefore ,Rt-R0/R100-R0*100

= 5.795 -5/5.23 -5 *100

= 345.65 degree C

So the actual temp. of the hot bath is 345.65 degree C as measured by the platinum resistance thermometer.
