We know heat produced is given by :

H=I^2Rt

Here , I is current flowing through resistor .

R is resistance .

t is time taken .

From the above equation .

We can say that heat produced is directly proportional to resistance .

Therefore , If we half the resistance the heat produced will be also halved .
