We know that volume has to remain constant if a wire is stretched.

Let length and area of wire be l1, A1 before stretching and l2, A2 after stretching respectively.

l1*A1=l2*A2

Hence, new length is n*old length, and area is Old area/n

Now, resistance is proportional to ratio of length and area.

Hence,new resistance is n*n*R
