The resistance of an electrical component remains constant while the potential difference across it decreases to half its former value. What change will occur in the current passing through it?

I=(V/2)/R
=1/2(V/R)
=1/2( current passing in the first case)
Hence the current in the new case will become half of the former value

♤ We know that

I = V/R

If V' = V/2

I' = V'/R

= V/2R

= 1/2

Therefore , the current will also become half of its previous value.
