100 Volts across R and 100 ohm (they are in parallel) out of 120 volts of source. Which means 20 volts across 10 Ohm.
That makes 10 Ohm carrying 2 A current.
100 volt across 100 ohm means its also carrying 1 A current. which means R is carrying 2–1 = 1 A. Now R = V/I = 100/1 = 100 Ohm
