The rest pustions or needles in a Milliameter and voltameter when not being used in a circuit are as shown in the figure. The "zero error" and "least count"of these two instruments are

a) (-4mA - 0.2V) and (1mA,0.2V) respectively.

b) (+4mA,-0.2V) and (2mA, 0.2 V) respectively.

here both the the miliammeter and the voltmeter has zero error and least count.

Now for the miliammeter the zero error is -4 mA and least count is 2 mA measured with the position of the needle.

Again for the position of the needle in case of voltmeter we can measure that the zero error and the least count of the voltmeter is +0·2 V and 0·1 V respectively .
