The resultant of two forces at right angle is 5N. When the angle between them is 120 degree, the resultant is root 13N. Then the two forces are?

The 2 forces will be 3 and 4 Newton
As in first condition
Resultant is 5
5 = √p^2 + √q^2 + 2pqcos@
Then solving this you get 3 and 4.. As cos@ that is cos(90°) comes to 0
2nd condition
√13 = 9+16+ 2(3)(4)* cos(120)
As cos 120 is same is -sin30
You get
9+16-24/2
That is
25-12 underroot
And hence you get √13
