Heyy...!!!

The Battle of Buxar was the decisive battle which defined British as a ruler that was fought between English Forces, and combined army of Mir Kasim, the Nawab of Bengal, Nawab of Oudh and Shah Alam II, Mughal Emperor.

The Battle of Buxar reduced the power and position of Shuja-ud-daula, the Nawab Wazir of Oudh. After his defeat at Buxar he acknowledged the supremacy of the British. He was forced to pay an amount of rupees fifty lakhs to the company as compensation.

Mir Kasim's assertion as the Nawab of Bengal, dispute with the English over declaring Shah Alam II as the Mughal emperor, the handing over of Ram Narain, the naib Diwan by the English to the Nawab and primarily, the dispute between the two concerning the right of the English to trade without payment of tax .

It was a battle fought between the English Forces, and a joint army of the Nawab of Oudh, Nawab of Bengal, and the Mughal Emperor. The battle was the result of misuse of trade privileges granted by the Nawab of Bengal and also the colonialist ambitions of East India Company
