The retail price of the toothpaste is 40.

The cost price of tooth brush plus toothpaste is :

125/100 × 40 = 50

This is inclusive of the cost of the toothbrush in that the cost of the toothbrush has lowered the cost of the toothpaste since it is given free.

It implies that the cost price of the toothpaste should be 10 more than the cost price when the toothbrush is not given free with the toothpaste.

The actual cost of the toothpaste is :

50 + 10 = 60

Rs 60
