yes because at this time we have demanded for independent Nation and a very huge revolt occurred in all over the India for the same purpose I.e. freedom so we can say it revolt of 1857 is first war for independence

firstly it was not the war of independence. because the people fight for getting benefits in their own fields but finally and eventually it was turned to the independence war because all fight against the British East india company
