1857 revolt was remarkable and was first step towards national movement of India
it promoted among Indians that nationalism is key for gaining independence.
Reasons behind failure of 1857 revolt were:
- rebels lack the central leader to coordinate the nation wide movement.
- most kings fought as regional struggle and fought only for there kingdoms which failed coordination
- few kings supported the British by sending money, arms, ammunition and troops. like Nizams of Hyderabad, Gurkhaas, pagans etc.
