Dalit Panther was a movement led by the Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar in June 1972.
In a number of educated Dalits, untouchables from Mumbai slums were also gathered to run this movement.
The movement started when Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar, Chairman of the Drafting committee reserved a portion of all elected position for Dalits and for that only Dalit had right to vote them.
In response to that Mahatma Gandhi opposed it to stop the rule and protested against Ambedkar where thousands of Dalit were killed by other high-class Hindus.
