The right hand thumb rule is also called Maxwell's cork screw rule. What is the cork-screw rule?

here is your answer
The right hand thumb rule or Maxwell's cork screw rule (probably know as screw rule) is use to find the direction of magnetic field in a current carrying conductor.
It states that if the direction of the current in a screw is inward to the direction of its fitting (mean its pointed part), then the direction of rotation represents the magnetic field of the current carrying conductor.
glad to help you
hope it helps
thank you.
The right hand thumb rule is also called Maxwell's cork screw rule as they both have the same outcomes and the only difference is in the explanation of the rules . right hand thumb rule is more scientific in nature explanation whereas maxwell's corkscrew rule is more of a everyday life explaining of the problem
right hand thumb rule : if we hold the straight conductor in the grip of our right hand in such a way that the extended thumb points in the direction of the current the direction of the cured fingers will give the direction of a magnetic field
maxwell's corkscrew rule : if a right handed screw be rotated along the wire so that it advances in the direction of current then the direction in which the thumb rotates gives the direction of the magnetic field.
